Child Development Activities
Bal Samuh (Children Assemblage)
Mahan Seva Sansthan supported the formation of new children groups at schools in new villages of project area and discuss with the new group members and teachers about the activities of Bal Panchayat for strengthening and spreading out their work in each level of village institution.

Bal Pushtakalaya (Children’s Library)
Children’s Library has been set at Bal Panchayat for intellectual and personality development of each child. This is a collection of interesting and children’s related books. Number of children attending Bal Library have increased. Children came to read news papers; books related to children issue etc. helped the children to improve their general knowledge.
Bal Bank (Children’s Bank)
For putting the saving habits in each child and assist children in difficult circumstances Bal Bank has been established in every village. Bal Bank is operating by the children’s of Bal Panchayat. The account holders regularly depositing money in Bal Banks. Children are coming forward to open their account.
Bal Khel Kendra (Children Sports Club)
The play is an important impact in physical and mental development of children. Keeping this in mind conducted various competitions at village, Panchayat, Block and district level through indoor and outdoor games with traditional games at each Bal Panchayat. Children Sports Club organized drawing competition, mutual dialogues, folk songs, dance, drama, regular practice in sports and games etc. these activities enhanced participation of children in BP activities.
Mahan Seva Sansthan also organizes workshops on Leadership Development for elected leaders of Bal Panchayat.
Children magazine
We publish a children magazine “Bal Pehal” (Child Initiative) on quarterly basis. Children contribute their drawings and writings, and it motivates them and improves their creativity. The elders also started taking interest in children’s activities. We circulate the copies of Bal Pehal among the government officials and CBOs to attract their attention on Child Rights and activities of Children collectives.

Voter awareness campaign
We organised voter awareness campaigns enabling child participation from over forty four villages of ten Gram Panchayats in rural Udaipur district. The project team supported activities with the participation of groups of children to aware people about the successful voting with the help of posters, meetings and cultural program. We also employed another innovative “Voter chariot” where children performed various attractive activities.
Vocational Training
We identified 79 children from the project villages for vocational training and evaluated their aptitude. The first stage constituted tailoring for the girls, 15 girls already bought sewing machine for their work.
Counselling for Migration Control
Due to lack of resource and less family incomes, every year a large number of children are deported forcefully to Gujarat for Cotton-seed farming. But due to earnest efforts of Mahan Seva Sansthan migration has reached to its minimal levels in working area. To continue the process and for the abolishment of child labour MSS organized meeting with migrating children and their parents. We discuss the causes and prevention of further migration and motivate them to re-join the school. To rehabilitate the migrant child labours we facilitate them re-joining the school and continue their studies.
