Soil & Water Conservation
MSS believes that water is critical to holistic development of the tribal villages and for that ground water and surface water needs sustainable management to ensure continuous availability. The economic condition of farmers in functional areas is poor. Hence most of them cannot afford field bunding on their agriculture fields and as a result during monsoon the water and top fertile soil flows out of the agriculture fields. This leads to soil erosion, which contributes to poor agricultural production. Our efforts directly benefited farmers as around 710 cubic meter ground water conservation capacity was increased and productivity of fodder also increased.
