Vermi-compost Making

Farmers in the area generally use semi decomposed cow dung in agriculture field, which increases termite problem in crops. Most of the farmers lack awareness and knowledge about how to decompose the animal waste and agriculture waste.

Mahan Seva Sansthan has organized various trainings to enhance the knowledge of farmers and generate awareness for use of naturally decomposed manures like green manuring, Vermi-Compost making, Pits technology of compost formation. Last year Vermi-compost unit was taken up by more than 20 families of 10 villages in Udaipur. Green manuring was done with 49 families in 10 villages of Udaipur to decomposed animal waste and agriculture waste so that farmer will use fully decomposed manure.  This decomposed manure helps farmers to reduce termite problem.
