Social Transformation by Enhancing Role of Childern in the Mainstream Development of Society
Background
Through this project the organization is facilitating right based and people centered development approach, it promotes and projects the rights of the people of this area. It base upon the premise that strengthen the child related issues as well as promote the alternative source of income among the community to ensure the child rights.
Geographical area
Jhadol block is a tribal dominated area of Udaipur district and consists of 45 gram panchayat. About 85% households belong to Schedule Tribe community, the area is hilly and remote and the people are totally depending upon the irregular and erratic monsoon. Out of this 45 Gram Panchayats we have been selected 10 gram Panchayats and 44 tribal dominated villages of the Jhadol block.
Coverage area
MSS has implemented the project in 44 tribal dominated villages of 10 Gram Panchayats in Jhadol Block. The population of these 10 GPs is 43,680. Out of this Schedule Tribe consist of 86% and Schedule Caste constitutes 1 % where as 13 % belongs to other caste.
Beneficiaries
43,680 villagers from 8316 households and 12,534 children in the age group of 9 to 18 years, which is consist of 29.62% of the total population of this area.

Goal
The project aims at creating the forums and system that address the need of the children as well as ensure their participation in the mainstream of development. It envisages empowering the children and community to understand the need of each other and help them to transform the society that ensures child rights.
Objective
This project has some own objectives which are create a common platform for all the children of this area, which are given bellow:
- Strengthening the Bal Panchayat for creating sustainable forums to exchange views and ideas to ensure child rights.
- Strengthening and sensitize village level intuitions for actualizing the child rights.
- Developing linkage and convergence between Bal Panchayat and larger community to work as advocate of child rights.
- Increased food security through increase in agricultural productivity and adoption of appropriate system and techniques to enhance employment opportunities.
- Develop networks of like minded people and institution and association with media to ensure child rights.
Strategy
- Strengthening forums of children for expression and participation

- Involving adults and local governance for the realization of child rights including the rights of disabled children and migrating children.
- Community awareness, participation and empowerment on Child Rights issues.
- Establishing forward (improved involvement of Governance & access to Govt. schemes and services) and backward (collective involvement of families, community and villages on Child rights issues) linkages.

Outcome
- Slowly all the children including the girls are joining in a favorable environment.
- Gender co- operation from PRIs, Govt. officials and teachers
- Teachers are attending the forum meetings, and give suggestions and taking active participation in various activities. They provide full supports guidance.
- VDC members taking keen interested in the project.
- A feeling of ownership of the project has developed among the women and others.
- Youths are supporting the project as their involvement has been secured through youth groups.
- Parents begin to spend time for the growth of their children
- Children become confident and participate regularly in the planning and implementation of project. Developed a sense of unity & we feeling among the children.
- Different children’s forums formed at ward and Panchayat level
- Existence of strong children groups, clarity on project, and importance of BAL Panchayat in the development of villages
- Increasing involvement of children and young people in policy processes related to childhood
- Children speak about their problems without hesitation, and enabled to identify equal opportunities for development.
