Strategy

Based on our two decades of experience, we believe that the tribal area of the Aravali range needs defined short term as well as long term approaches for holistic development. Accordingly, our strategy is people centric. In the short term, MSS provides communities with the necessary training and materials to begin development work. However, to insure long term sustainable development, all MSS projects are ultimately maintained and run by the villages.
Some examples of the tactics we employ in order to achieve our objectives:
- Organizing villagers into a Village Development Committee (VDC) and educating them about sustainable development
- Applying principles of participation in identification and prioritization of problems and also in identification of developmentPrograms
- Using regional and cluster approaches in identification of solution to issues in the area
- Collaborating with other institutions, community organizations and individuals who have similar ideologies and approaches.
- Capacity enhancement through meetings, trainings and exposure visits.
- Restoration and regeneration of natural resources
- Empowering of the poor and marginalized
- Promotion of gender sensitive community participation
- Establishing networks and alliances with other like-minded organizations
- Lobbying in favor of the poor
